Handling has also been improved by replacing the standard suspension with a heavy-duty alternative with gas shocks. Also, the 17-inch wheels have been upgraded to 18-inch aluminum wheels with all-season tires.

The Rubicon has two powertrain options besides the standard 2.0-litre DOHC Direct-Injection turbocharged engine. Also available are the 3.6-litre Pentastar VVT V6 with either eTorque and an 8-speed automatic transmission or ESS technology with a 6-speed manual transmission.
