The Region of Waterloo is bustling with energy during New Year’s Eve 2019, and there’s plenty of fun to be had whether you live in Waterloo, Kitchener, or Cambridge! Bustard Chrysler has compiled a list of some of the great events taking place in each city on New Year’s Eve 2019! Check it out below.

Uptown Waterloo

Location: Waterloo Public Square (75 King St. S., Waterloo, ON)
Time: 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Ring in the New Year with the City of Waterloo in the bustling Waterloo Public Square! This is a perfect event for families with young children, as well as the young at heart! Enjoy some music while skating on the outdoor rink, and warm up in between skating with some free hot chocolate. Craft your own festive light-up crown with the team from Mindful Makers and don it while you take a picture with your family (or a selfie!) in the fun Fire and Ice themed photo booth. Create your own light show launching LED arrow toys into the night sky, and play with splashes of colour in motion at Sam Dougherty's interactive light table. The best part is, because the event ends at 9:00 pm, it’s great for children of all ages. Event, including hot chocolate and activities, are free for the whole family! Check out the City of Waterloo website for more information.

City of Kitchener

Take pics with a Replica Jurassic Park Jeep, the iconic Flintstones car, and larger-than-life dinosaurs. Raid the piggy bank for some quarters to play vintage arcade games, and check out the console gaming zone. There will be a number of toy and comic book vendors on site for your shopping desires. Enjoy free skating, plus fun and free crafts for kids (starting at 6:00 pm, while supplies last). And of course, New Year's Eve wouldn’t be New Year's Eve without music and fireworks! Enjoy live music courtesy of STARPOWER from 10 pm to midnight, and join Sarge from KFUN and members of council for a live countdown to ring in the new decade! Admission to this event is free, and limited free parking is available at the City Hall garage. Attendees are welcome to bring a non-perishable food item or two in support of The Food Bank of Waterloo Region. Check out the City of Kitchener website for more information.
