2022 Ram 1500 vs 2022 Toyota Tundra

2022 Ram 1500 vs 2022 Toyota Tundra

The 2022 Toyota Tundra is capable of hauling, towing, and going down less-travelled roads using advanced technologies that enhance the driving experience. It's an all-terrain vehicle with a rugged exterior and a premium interior.

Whether you're at work, at play, or travelling on an adventurous journey, the 2022 Ram 1500 is ready to dominate the scene.

Let's have a look at how these two models compare:

Performance

Performance

With a 10-speed transmission, the 2022 Tundra is equipped with a powerful and luxurious twin-turbo V-6 engine. You can choose between three different powertrains. According to its specifications, the non-hybrid engine produces 348 horsepower and 405 pounds-feet of torque on models with the base SR trim.

The Ram 1500 offers both V-6 and V-8 gasoline engines with a wide range of trim levels paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. A hybrid system with 48 volts assists performance in both engines, although the Hemi V-8 5.7-litre is also available without electrical aid.

Payload and Towing Capacity

Payload-and-Towing-Capacity

With a towing capacity of 12,750 pounds, the Ram 1500 can carry 2,320 pounds of payload. Besides the Ford F-150, which has a towing capacity that exceeds 13,500 pounds, it has the best towing capacity in its class.

The Tundra can tow a maximum of 12,000 pounds and is capable of hauling a maximum payload of about 1,942 pounds.

Fuel Economy

Fuel economy is varied among the Ram 1500 lineup, which features hybridised V-6, V-8, and diesel engines. The V-6 version of the Ram 1500 can get up to 8.5 km/L in the city and 11.1 km/L on the highway. The V-8 can achieve 7.23 km/L in the city and 9.8 km/L on the highway. Rams equipped with diesel engines are expected to get up to 9.4 km/L in the city and 13.6 km/L on the highway. All-wheel-drive models will get slightly less.

Non-hybrid Tundras get up to 8.5 km/L in the city and 10.2 km/L on the highway with two-wheel drive. When equipped with all-wheel drive, the figures decrease by 0.43 km//L each.

Connectivity and Entertainment

Connectivity-and-Entertainment

The Ram trucks have long been some of the best in the class regarding infotainment and connectivity. Except for the base Ram model, all the trucks feature an 8.4-inch touchscreen. A 12.0-inch touchscreen is also available.

Except for the Nissan Titan, nearly all full-size pickup trucks are now equipped with giant touch screens that measure at least 12 inches. Tundra trucks come standard with an 8.0-inch touchscreen, but a large 14.0-inch touchscreen is available as an optional upgrade. It also includes built-in Apple CarPlay compatibility and Android Auto functionality.
