Models and Pricing

The Ram RED Edition returns in 2023. It’s part of Ram’s programme to donate to the Global Fund to help fight health emergencies. It comes with a red R-A-M badge on the grille and door and interior badging.

There are nine models of the 2023 Ram 1500. Prices are yet to be set, but it’s unlikely that they’ll differ too much from the 2022 starting amount of around $45,000. Options include the Tradesman, Tradesman HFE, Big Horn, Sport, Rebel, Laramie, Longhorn, Limited and TRX.

The New Limited Elite Edition will turn heads with its capabilities. They include a bed extender, cargo divider and a unique instrument cluster theme. Plus, you get a heated steering wheel, multi-function and locking tailgate and heated and ventilated premium leather bucket seats up front.

The off-road group, including the Laramie, Longhorn and Limited models, now has 22-inch all-terrain tires available.

Performance and Design

There’s a choice of four powertrain options to deliver the fuel efficiency and performance that you need. The 3.6-litre eTorque Pentastar V6 engine brings you 305 horsepower. For a more eco experience, there’s the 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6 with 260 horsepower and 8 L per 100 km fuel economy on the highway.

The 5.7-litre eTorque HEMI V8 variable-valve timing mild-hybrid system gets you 395 horsepower without compromising on fuel efficiency. When you get the TRX, you’ll be looking at a supercharged setup with a 6.2-litre HEMI V8 and 702 horsepower. The maximum payload is 1,043 kg and a maximum trailer tow capability of 5,783 kg.

There are 4x2 and 4x4 configurations available. Choose between the quad cab with the 1.95m bed, the crew cab with a 1.9m bed, or the crew cab with a 1.73m bed.

Technology

Passenger comfort and intelligent tools to improve the drive experience are standard across all models. The glove box has a UV light that runs a three-minute hygiene cycle to kill bacteria. There’s also a rear-seat reminder alert and an Emergency Vehicle Alert System.

The Uconnect 5 system brings simultaneous connectivity for two Bluetooth-enabled phones. It has an Alexa in-vehicle assistant, a 12-inch touchscreen, and driver profiles with reconfigurable tiles to give you at-a-glance data.
