2021 Jeep Cherokee Hands Free Power Liftgate

When you’ve got a handful of groceries, luggage, or other items, the last thing you want to do is fumble for your keys and pull open the back hatch of your Jeep! The Hands Free Power Liftgate allows you to open the liftgate without juggling your items and keys (or dropping anything!).

A Hands Free power liftgate is a motorized hatch that opens and closes electronically. As you can see in the video below, all you need to do is kick in a straight motion under center of your vehicle’s rear bumper with your keyless entry fob in your pocket and the rear hatch will open! Make sure that you are approximately 20 inches away from your bumper in order for the motion sensor to detect the kicking motion. Do not use a side to side or sweeping motion. The hazard lights will flash and within about a second, the rear hatch will open entirely. The gate can be closed using the same kicking motion.

The Hands Free Power Liftgate may also be opened and closed using the hatch release button on your remote.
