2022 Jeep grand Cherokee vs Grand Cherokee L

2022 Jeep grand Cherokee vs Grand Cherokee L

The Grand Cherokee lineup is definitely one of the biggest sales champions among Jeeps. This position can only be challenged, perhaps, by the legendary Wrangler. So, if you’re looking for an SUV (not a military-looking pickup) that also looks great on the busiest city streets, you can’t go wrong with a Grand Cherokee. Which one to choose, though?

Driveability and Performance

Driveability and Performance

2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L have similar engines, towing capacity, and drinking habits. We’re talking about big vehicles, and those two drink accordingly.

The Grand Cherokee has a V6 engine that makes between 8.0 km/L and 11 km/L, depending on the conditions. It has a towing capacity of 6,200, 293 hp, and torque of 260 lb-ft.

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L also comes with a V6 engine. It makes 8.0 km/L in urban areas and up to 12 km/L on highways. It has a towing capacity of 7,200 pounds. It’s a pretty muscled-up SUV, with 293 hp and torque of 260 lb-ft.

Despite their similarities, both vehicles can be differentiated by size; the Grand Cherokee L is bigger, and it has a bigger towing capacity. Nevertheless, both vehicles have very similar performance.

Both vehicles offer a flagship level of comfort, but the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L comes on top in size: seven seats against the five seats found in the Jeep Grand Cherokee. Anyway, passengers have plenty of legroom on both.

The Grand Cherokee L also has more cargo space and three rows of seats instead of two. It’s also possible to buy leather upholstery for all seats, regardless of your choice. Those who enjoy sunroofs can also find them on the new lineups.

Technology and Safety

Technology and Safety

The Grand Cherokee L and the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee also have some advanced tech features. The first uses the latest version of the Uconnect 5 infotainment system. It’s also part of the package, a 10.25-inch interactive display, with an option for a 10.1-inch display for passengers, with Amazon Fire.

The Grand Cherokee has a slightly bigger front-seat display: 10.3-inch. It counts on a navigation system that provides real-time information about traffic and weather conditions. It also offers an outstanding sound system: a 19-speaker McIntosh. Both SUVs are compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM. These Cherokees are also very similar in safety features and navigation assistants.
