Christkindl Christmas Market in Kitchener, Ontario
Waterloo Region is abound with Christmas spirit as we get closer to December 25th! Many of us are now pondering which gifts we should shower our loved ones with this holiday season. Here in Waterloo Region, local citizens are lucky to have a number of fantastic Christmas markets and craft shows featuring traditional and modern gifts to enjoy!
City of Kitchener Christkindl Market
Old world traditions entrench Waterloo Region, and when you think of Christmas Markets, the first one that probably comes to mind is the renowned Christkindl Christmas Market in Downtown Kitchener. This market not only features a wide range of craft, jewelry, food, clothing and houseware vendors, but also a number of other fun activities including skating, traditional German food vendors, and musical and dance groups. You will have an opportunity to meet butchers, bakers, candlestick vendors, wooden toy carvers and blacksmiths. There’s even great activities for the kids, including the Kinderecke craft center, workshop, and puppet show. The event commences on Thursday, December 1st with a Candlelight Procession with the Grand Philharmonic Choir from Victoria Park to Kitchener City Hall at 5:40 pm, and runs until Sunday at 4:00 pm when the Official Closing Ceremonies take place. City of Cambridge Christmas Market
Neighboring city Cambridge is proud to present its own Christmas Market the weekend following the Christkindl Market. From Thursday, December 8th until Sunday December 11th, enjoy this one stop shopping destination that features unique gifts, seasonal food, and an overall great atmosphere and experience that will really get you into the spirit of the holidays. Each day will offer a special entertainment feature, and the Saturday Christmas Market will incorporate the Cambridge Farmer’s Market. Craft shows across the Region
In addition to these two major Christmas Markets, Waterloo Region residents are lucky to have the opportunity to get their shop on at many different craft shows across the Region.
