Sunlife Financial Uptown Waterloo Jazz Festival

The Sunlife Financial Uptown Waterloo Jazz Festival is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Jazzfest brings free Jazz to the Waterloo community, with a lineup that rival’s some of the world’s best Jazz festivals. Sun Life Financial is the title sponsor of the event, which has reached it’s pivotal year of twenty-five.

Jazzfest runs from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm tonight (July 21, 2017), 10:30 am to 10:00 pm Saturday night (July 22, 2017), and 10:30 am until 4:00 pm Sunday (July 23, 2017) at the City of Waterloo Public Square and the Waterloo City Hall parking lot. You can check out a detailed schedule on the Jazzfest website. From colorful funk orchestra Busty and the Brass to Canadian jazz superstar Matt Dusk, there’s something for everyone! Plenty of food vendors are on site, so come hungry! There are also some non-food vendors, including a Henna tattooist and a number of community organizations.

In addition to fantastic live music and great vendors, there are a number of jazz workshops, including the Youth Jazz ensemble, where young musicians aged 14-22 get workshops with experienced instructors and then perform on stage. If the day time festivities aren’t enough for you, Jazzfest has partnered up with several local restaurants to bring you “Jazz After Jazz” late into the evening.
