Winterloo Carnival in Waterloo Makes Winter Fun!

Waterloo's Winterloo Carnival begins February 24th and runs until February 26th.
 
It may look like Spring outside but deep down we all know it’s still winter. The City of Waterloo is celebrating that this weekend with its annual Winterloo Winter Carnival. Waterloo Park will transform into a winter wonderland (even if we don’t have any snow!) Friday February 24th at 7 pm. The festivities run until Sunday at 4 pm.
 
The program is packed with events across four fun themes – winter sport, winter survival, winter cultures, and of course, staying warm by the fire!
 
Winter kicks off with “Skate Night Date Night” in Waterloo Public Square. Skate under the stars to the tunes of local jazz musician Rufus. Weather permitting, other Winterloo activities include archery, snow shoeing, a scavenger hunt, Amazing Race: The Winter Edition, a dog sled race, ice sculpting, plus puppet shows and storytelling for the wee ones.
 
Local institutions are getting involved with Winterloo as well. The University of Waterloo Engineering Program is responsible for creating the popular ice slide (weather permitting). The Conestoga College Integrated Marketing Communications students have put together an amazing winter race for revelers.
 
In addition to the fun activities taking place in the Park, the Uptown Core will host events like a chili cook off at Chainsaw and a movie screening at Princess Cinemas.
