Extended warranties and service contracts can provide additional peace of mind when you purchase a new or pre-owned vehicle, depending on the manufacturer's warranty specifications. All Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM vehicles are backed by a 5-year or 100,000 km fully transferable Powertrain Warranty with 0$ deductible and 24 hour roadside assistance. The Basic Warranty covers up to 3 years, or 60,000 km. Also included is a rust and perforation warranty, which covers sheet metal rusting for 5 years or 160,000 kms. The Cummins Turbo Diesel Engine is covered by a separate limited warranty, which covers the engine for 5 years, or up to 160,000 kms.

If you plan to keep your vehicle beyond the 5 year/100,000 km limit, or if you would like peace of mind for components covered under the Basic Warranty beyond 3 years, or 60,000 km, a Chrysler extended warranty, or service contract, is worth it for you!
Do you offer extended warranties for all Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM vehicles?
Bustard Chrysler is proud to offer a wide range of extended warranties (also known as service contracts) for all Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and RAM vehicles. Extended warranties are optional plans whereby Chrysler helps pay for repairs to your vehicle which occur after the standard warranty period ends.
Is an extended warranty worth it?
Extended warranties are always worth it! Particularly after warranty periods end and kms are higher, wear and tear can begin to significantly impact your vehicle. Mechanical components wear down, and electrical components can act up – through no fault of the manufacturer of course. Any aged vehicle that has been subject to wear and tear is going to experience some unfortunate side effects. Some of these side effects (repairs) can be very costly, particularly when engine or transmission components are involved. Extended warranties are a small price to pay for peace of mind, limiting your financial risk and increasing the longevity of your vehicle.

Mechanical breakdown
The well-known Chrysler Gold plan offers full mechanical repair protection to non-powertrain (Gold) components. These plans basically extend your Basic Warranty and include components such as steering, air conditioning, suspension, and more. Extended Gold plans offer powertrain component protection, repairing powertrain components beyond your vehicle’s 5 year/100,000 km Factory Powertrain Warranty. All Gold Warranty claims are taken care of by factory-trained technicians who know your vehicle inside and out, and make repairs using OEM parts. The costs of parts and labour for the applicable repairs are covered, and a rental is included for any overnight repairs for your convenience.
Body-Gard Sharkskin Interior and Exterior Surface Protection
Worried about body rust? Living in Waterloo Region, we all know that rust can be a huge problem thanks to weather variability. The Body-Gard and Sharkskin Interior and/or Exterior warranty options an excellent choice to ensure the interior and exterior of your vehicle remains in good condition for the long haul. Body-Gard provides a lifetime warranty against rust on new and slightly used vehicles. Keep in mind that for used units, the length of the warranty depends on the year and kms of the vehicle. Typically, this warranty covers surface rust protection for six years on new and slightly used vehicles. In addition, it warrants against fading paint and corrosion from bird droppings, tree sap, and the negative impacts of our lovely Kitchener-Waterloo weather conditions!
Sharkskin Interior surface protection offers next level protection for your vehicle. Sharkskin is applied to your upholstery, and its nano-molecules reassemble on the vehicle surface and create a negatively charged and highly repellent surface. It doesn’t alter the look and feel of your upholstery, and repels water, dirt, oil, liquids, bacteria, and mould to keep the interior of your vehicle clean and fresh.
Sharkskin Exterior Protection protects the exterior of your vehicle against weather, pollutants, and oxidation. However, with the Tire Gard Road Hazard Warranty, you can ensure that your tires will be repaired or replaced when damaged by road hazards. Tire Gard lives up to its namesake, guarding your tires and rims from repairs and offering replacement options where necessary. Road hazards like nails, potholes, road debris, and more can be a real pain in the tire, so this coverage is a wise choice – whether cruising the pothole-ridden roads of Waterloo or driving down one of our many streets under construction! Mounting, balancing, and installation are included, and there is no deductible. Total Loss Protection
No one wants to be in a car accident, but the unfortunate reality is that accidents happen. In the event of an accident, a vehicle is deemed a total loss in the event that the cost of repairs is greater than the wholesale value of the vehicle. The cost of repairs today can be costly, and so it is very likely that your vehicle will be written off as a total loss instead of being repaired. Because vehicles depreciate in value relatively quickly and result in negative equity, the value of your insurance settlement in the event of a total loss is often less than the amount owing on the vehicle. The difference between your settlement offer, and the amount owing on your vehicle is typically known as the GAP. Unfortunately, it’s often in the thousands. Total Loss Protection, also known as GAP Insurance, is a full-term program for both new and pre-owned vehicles that protects you, and your credit rating, in the event your vehicle is deemed a total loss. The aforementioned GAP payment (up to $50,000) is made for you in the event of a total loss from fire, theft, or accident, plus up to $1000 for the cost of the deductible.
Lease excess wear and tear
Leasing a vehicle can be a very economical way to transition into a new vehicle every two or three years, however we are all aware of the most significant downfalls – excess mileage and wear and tear costs. Lease Excess Wear and Tear Coverage covers a long list of wear and tear charges that may arise when you turn in your leased vehicle, such as:

When you purchase a prepaid maintenance plan for your new Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep or RAM vehicle, you’ll receive up to 13 oil changes and tire rotations, as well as key fob coverage.
Are extended warranties transferable if I sell my vehicle?
In the event you sell your Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or RAM vehicle, the unexpired portion of the plan coverage may be transferred to the purchaser at no cost, within 30 days of purchase. All Chrysler extended warranties and service plans/service contracts include Chrysler Roadside Assistance 24 hours per day, 365 days per year for the duration of the plan. Chrysler Roadside Assistance includes the following:
• Towing to your nearest Chrysler dealer (if you are closer to another dealer than Bustard Chrysler, your vehicle will be towed and taken care of at the nearest Chrysler dealer to you at the time of the breakdown)
