New Standard Features
New and notable features include Gorilla Glass windshields and 20-inch aluminum wheels. Additionally, all models have side curtain airbags. This model is available in ten colours, including a new one: the Anvil. The seven-slot grille is also available across the lineup.
Some of the higher trims have a Jeep 4ex Power Box, with 30 amps of output and 120v outlets. The package even allows the battery pack to charge mobile devices. The new powertrain is part of Stellantis’s global effort to reduce emissions 50% by 2030.
Engine and Performance
The 4xe models come with a 2.0-litre turbocharged PHEV 4xe, with a torque capacity of 470 lb-ft and 375 horsepower. When the battery is at a minimum charge, the engine’s output changes to 295 lb-ft of torque and 270 horsepower.
The 4xe’s powertrain counts on a 400v battery pack and two electric motors. This setup, combined with a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, delivers superior fuel efficiency compared with other models. Note that Jeep hasn’t yet released more detailed information regarding the fuel efficiency of this hybrid engine.
The 2024 Wrangler Willys 4xe trim is coming with a new Selec-Trac full-time transfer case. The new 17.3 kWh lithium-ion battery is considerably more powerful than the previous version, which has a top charge rate of 7.2 kW.
Driving Modes
The Sport S 4xe is now the entry-level model, and all trims have three driving modes to adapt to road conditions and different driving styles. The E Selec feature will set you to the best conditions for driving in the city, in nature, or just commuting between cities. The three driving modes are:
Electric
This mode allows for zero emissions, as it switches the vehicle to all-electric. The battery has a range of 35 km and runs until it reaches minimum capacity.
Hybrid
In this mode, the electric battery is combined with the power from the 2.0-litre turbocharged I-4 engine. This mode uses power from the battery before the engine.
eSave
Unlike the hybrid mode, the eSave mode prioritizes the gas engine’s output, saving the electric battery for later. The eSave mode also gives the options of battery charge and battery save, which are displayed on the hybrid electric pages and controlled via Uconnect.
Tech and Infotainment
The new Wrangler 4xe is designed for those who love an off-road adventure. The 2024 version brings the Trails Offroad feature, which guides you through over 60 trails branded as “Jeep Badge of Honor.” All these trails are saved into the Uconnect 5 infotainment system; also, this feature can be upgraded and offer over 3,000 trail guides.
All 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe models have a 12.3-inch digital touchscreen, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, remote keyless entry, and power door locks and windows.
